Connexxion's Custom Development team have successfully delivered the following projects:
Defence – The department manages the facilities operations, garrison services and capital development of a property portfolio valued in excess of $20 billion. They maintain environmental stewardship of over 3 million hectares of land and more than 700 leased or owned properties containing over 25,000 built assets. Connexxion designed and developed an estate management system from the ground up to manage the entire estate including alignment with contract, procurement and financial regulations and building legislation. The implementation of the system in 2000 saw an immediate impact on expenditure control as it closed the gaps that existed with duplicate invoicing, failure of service providers to meet their KPI’s and work being carried out on assets earmarked for disposal.
Connexxion has worked closely with Defence over the last 14 years to extend the capability of the system to the point where it now manages over $1billion in facilities operations, garrison services and capital expenditure annually. Developed using Microsoft technologies, the estate management system is accessed Australia wide by internal Defence staff and external contractors. Connexxion continues to support and improve the system through a central service desk located within Australia. This has included ongoing training and continuous service improvements to ensure system users have a thorough understanding of both the business and system processes needed to manage their estate in an efficient and effective manner.
Defence – Ensuring timely, accurate and accessible maintenance documentation is paramount to Aircraft Safety. This customer had a requirement for a reliable and cost effective way to connect teams Australia wide – this included publishing, printing and finishing, document warehousing and distribution; forms management; graphics; audio-visual; and other ancillary services. This Task Management and Tracking System was specifically designed and developed to meet the operational requirements of this Defence organisation.
Working closely with the client to understand the core business needs, Connexxion designed, developed and implemented a standards based workflow solution capable of capturing documentation requests, attaching print files, allocating print run tasks, automating the approval processes and generating auditable reports. All Defence Staff are now able to place their print requests in an electronic form and the automated workflow tracks and reports on the requests completion and this reduced the time to process maintenance manual requests from days to hours.
Federal Government– the government organisation required other government departments to record financial information using a threat and mitigation matrix. Connexxion designed and implemented a web based solution that accessed data stored in a SQL Server database. The solution was available to other government departments via the Fed Net internet for data input and utilised both user and role based security, along with encrypted data transfers between the hosting provider and client PC.
Defence– The Defence agency conducts an annual zero based requirements determination review to identify actual and future logistics shortfalls and future financial liabilities. This process requires large amounts of data to be extracted from corporate tools, analysed, and presented to the Logistics teams in a coherent fashion. Connexxion was required to develop a custom built solution using a SQL database into which logistics, cost and schedule data on the departments managed Repairable items and Breakdown Spares can be loaded from corporate systems. Connexxion created a web based system that offers extensive budget entry and reporting capabilities to office based and remote users that has been in use for over 7 years with little support required.
